SSI was established 2000, with charter capital is 6 billion VND; on April 26th 2002, charter capital raised up to 20 billion VND. SSI has 4 main businesses: securities investment advisory, securities brokerage, dealing on own accounts and securities custody.
On July 9th 2002, Hanoi branch was opened which meant security business running from the North to the South.
February 2005, SSI became the first security company has foreign shareholder, and increased charter capital up to 26 billion, added list management operation.
June 2005, SSI increased its capital to 52 billion and got the license for underwriting.
September 2006, company raised charter capital up to 500 billion VND.
On August 16th 2006, Sai Gon real estate and security company was established 

- Securities brokerage,
- Securities and capital investment advisory,
- Financial market, financial advisory for business,
- Underwriting.

Till June 30th 2006, 52,000 accounts was held, 98.98% accounts for private, VCBS held 25%, BVSC and SSI held 18.2% each. Security transaction market share of BVSC accounts for 23.04%, SSI accounts for 16.09%, BSC and ACBS accounts for 11%. Dealing on own accounts: ARSC accounts 41.31%, VCBS accounts 32.46%, IBS accounts 14.47%, SSI accounts more than 10%.

Underwriting operation of SSI was weak for past 6 months, ARGS and VCBS held most of market. SSI can marketing and understand the market’s demand. Saigon Securities Inc. was the first established and became the most credibility in security market. Its market share currently accounts for 30% of the total listed security market; SSI having more than 70% of its transaction volume currently coming from foreign investors accounts.

For corporate finance advisory service, SSI advised 10-listed company in total top 24-listed company, accounts more than 60% listed securities at State Securities Commission – Ho Chi Minh city Securities Trading Center.  

2007-2008 stage, SSI intent to increase charter capital to 1,000 billion VND in order to meet requirement of expanding service to corporate finance advisory and equitization advisory. From September 30th 2006, SSI closed list of collecting shareholder’s opinion for listed plan.

SSI strives to become the first listed security corporate in security market. Enhance capital mobilization though security market. Expand business by establish real estate company. Intend to set up security investment fund next year. Become a strategically shareholder of PPI, VSH, PDV.
